Beautiful RareSinger Featherweight 221
with US voltage
Thisis the rare white version, according to some originally called \"Mint\"
due to its pretty slightly mint-green tint (not noticeable in photos).Original serial number appears to be a rare single letter F 236549.
Some history: This s/n makes this unit somewhat of a unique item and a historical mystery. Though there is no reason to doubt its authenticity, there is no surviving record of Featherweights with single-letter serial numbers (though records of other early single letter Singers from circa 1910 do exist). This is not entirely surprising since many of original factory records were destroyed in an infamous factory fire and also during WWII decades ago. Most of today’s records have been compiled by enthusiasts and collectors and are known to be incomplete. So this machine is either a special rarity of production or a mis-stamp (possibly being FA236549 in such a case, bysome experts), making it unique and rare and by some standards more collectible, like a mis-printed stamp, either way.The motor, pedal, and plug have all been converted to US/Canada use on 110V withoriginal Singer parts.
Machine works fine and is very 221 Featherweight
