This is a very high quality Iron Cross in very nice condition. It is an original award, three piece construction with a non-magnetic zinc or brass core. Non-ferrous cores were common from this jeweler and it gave Kriegsmarine personnel a choice if they intended to wear their EK1\'s around salt air which rusted the iron ones quickly if expose to the elements. There are no maker marks on it but an expert in this field let me know it was made by Deumer. No problems with the screw on backing. Nice ones like this are hard to find these days and if you look carefully at the detail in the crown and the fine beading on the frame, you will see the high quality of this piece. The white you see in the middle top of the crown is not paint loss, just a reflection. Paint is nearly 100% on this example.
