A First Edition of Symons\' collection of biographies of artists and writers.

Bound in cloth with gilt lettering.

Includes sections on Emily Bronte, Poe, Flaubert, Rossetti, Ibsen, and Baudelaire, among others.

Arthur William Symons (1865–1945), was a British poet, critic and magazine editor.

CONDITION

The binding is generally tight and firm. The rear inner hinge is very slightly strained, but still good and firm. There is only slight wear to the extremities, with just slight bumping and rubbing to the surface of the boards. Internally the pages are generally clean with light scattered foxing to the first and last couple of pages, and very slight browning to the page edges. Overall the condition is very good.
