SKILLFULLY HAND PAINTED TWO TIER SERVER WITHSATSUMA MORIAGE DECORATION

-Vintage fromearly 20th century

-Marked: Made in Japan

-Size: Stem is 12”(30.48cm) tall. Bottom plate is 9” (22.86cm) wide, top plate is 7” (17.78cm)wide, plates are approximately 1” (2.54cm) deep, and they are 4.75” (12.06cm)apart. On the top the remainder of the stem is 6.75” (17.14cm) including acircle 2.25” (6.98cm) diameter to be able to lift it up.

-The stem is brassthe plates are china with hand painted traditional Satsuma style decoration.The designs on the top and bottom plates are slightly different from eachother, both have a man and a woman with halos around their heads, probably depictinga marriage ceremony. On the top of the design there is a symbol of harmony, underthat there are some of natures elements like mountain, lake beautifullyrendered, an affluent looking Japanese house and the couple.

-The whole themeseems to have something to do with wedding, marriage, prosperity and happiness.Great wedding gift
