These circa 1925 bookends depict a relief of Ralph Waldo Emerson (American essayist, lecturer and poet; born 1803 - died 1882) posed in a classical frame setting. These cast iron bookends were made by Bradley Hubbard, with B&H\'s mark stamped in the backs. Bradley Hubbard made another version of a Emerson bookend, slightly smaller in size and less elegant in design, and usually seen as a single paired with another literary figure to make the set. These wonderful bookends are very heavy, each weighing 3.5 pounds. They are in very nice condition and are 6.25 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep.
