Artwork - Intricate This scene portraying a Chinese river, boats with people, temples and more was done using the Kesi craft, dating back to the 7th Century, of weaving images onto raw silk. In ancient China, an inch of Kesi was worth the same as an ounce of gold. The reason is that Kesi was particularly labor-intensive and produced extremely delicate images.
This very impressive finely woven Chinese Kesi panel is from the 1920\'s. Framed, and under glass, and has a heavy wood back.. It measures 19\" X 34\". The artwork is in excellent condition.
