1920\'s Multi Pleated Organdy Silk Gown Paul Du Pont Chicago Label Art Deco:
$150.00
This beautiful multi pleated gown seems to be heavily influenced by Fortuny\'s designs.
The interior label reads \"Paul de Pont\" - the only information that I have been able to locate about Paul Du Pont is that he was a successful costume designer working both on Broadway and for the ballet. I can find nothing about clothing designs.
The dress is sleeveless with fabric pieces over the shoulder, a long tapered shape with multiple pleats on the bottom and an assymetrical hem..It is black.
The fabric is a very fine organdy - transparent in the single layer on the top - opaque where the dress is double layered and sewn into pleats.
Closure is a double layer of snaps
Condition is very good - the only problem I see is a small repair visible in the last pictureThe dress is very small
The measurements follow - they were taken when the dress was on the mannequin - they are outer dimensions - To wear the dress you have to be smaller than these measurements - and remember to leave room to breath.
Bust 33 inches
Waist 29 inches
Hip 36 Inches
The length from shoulder seam to hem ranges from 57 to 60 inches - shoulder seam to waist is 15 inches
