Gruen Watchmaker\'s Guild, Time Hill

Dietrich Gruen, was born in Germanyin 1847. At 15 years of age, he was sent away from home to become a watchmaker\'s apprentice. Later he worked for three years in Switzerland before going to the U.S.A.Although the company was started by Dietrich and Fred in 1894, by 1900 they were claiming 1876 as a founding date (this is the year the Columbus Watch Company was founded). Starting in 1915, Gruen\'s advertising used 1874 instead of 1876. 1874 has remained Gruen\'s official founding date ever since; the company that makes quartz \"Gruen\"watches today still stamps \"since 1874\" on the boxes. This is an ART DECO Gruen men`s wristwatch from approx. the 1920`s or perhaps the early 1930`s and it is approx. 35mm x 28mm . Notice the handsome etchings on the case sides , arent they fantastic ? The crystal is like new and this fine men`s watch also has a fantastic new GENUINE CROCODILE strap ordered and will be installed as soon as it arrives or I can have a fantastic bracelet placed on the watch if you prefer. One of my favorite shaped timepiece is the \"Tonneau\" shape or barrel as some would call it and my favorite style is Art Deco with tons of etchings so this is just what the doctor ordered and by the way , almost all of these fine men`s wristwatches were produced in a white gold filled case and this one is a yellow gold filled case which also has a very handsome butler white dial with yellow gold markers with matching hands . Gruen is the most collected watch in the world and this particular watch is in fantastic condition. This fine men`s watch has a great crystal too and was serviced so, buy with confidence . All of my vintage watches have been tested and work within a few minutes perday . I also re-time them before shipping and if they do not pass my test , I wont ship and will refund . Also , I am handicapped and requireextra time to ship so please be advised . These watches are worth the wait .
