One of the strangest and rarest of vintage ukes... only a few were made in the mid-1920\'s.Designed by Turturro and made by S.S. Stewart of New York, this instrument
would be a unique addition to any ukulele collection. Nearly mint condition, with no cracks or repaired cracks,andalmost noscratches, dings, or wear.Surprisingly easy and fun to play, although ittends toslip around a bituntil youget used tothe rounded back.The most impressive thing about this unusual instrument is the tone. The body is made of numerous separate strips of mahoganyperfectly joined like a barrel,which gives this uke a deep, rich, mellow tonelike an ovation guitar or a pineapple Kamaka.Mahogany neck with a wafer-thin Brazilian rosewood\"fretboard\"which extends a short distance overthe top face of the ukulele. The original old-fashioned wood tuners work great, and stay in tune.Original red strings of unknown origin still sound great.This is an ukulele that is a conversation piece, and perfect for player orcollector... or both!
