1920s Vintage Unmarked Tenor Banjo - Restored.
This needed a lot of help when we got it. What we did:
1.Pull the three frets it came with, replace one of the position markers, level the fretboard and re-fret it. The fretboard is a nice piece of Ebony.
2. Reset the dowel stick.
3. Make it a new nut.
4. Replace all the washers inside the pot with brass washers as some were badly rusted and others were not present.
5. Install a new Remo Fyberskyn head.
6. Install a new 1/2 inch bridge and set it up with a D\'Addario Irish Tenor Banjo set .12 -.36. It\'s tuned G-D-A-E but will work fine with a regular Tenor banjo set tuned to C. Or you can just tune the heavy strings up.This plays and sounds great with low action. It\'s a cool old banjo that didn\'t deserve to get parted out. It has a hollow brass tone ring between the pot and the head. It has nice high quality hardware its original Grover tuners and an Elton Tailpiece. One of the tailpiece cover rivets is disengaged but it does not effect the functionality of the cover.
No case but will be well packed.
