1922 Gibson \"MB-1\" Mandolin Banjo w/ Original Hard Case. :
$675.00

Travel back in time with this vintage mandolin banjo. It\'s a Gibson, built here in the good ol\' USA at the old Gibson shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The factory order number (FON) stamped on the both the dowel rod and the inner rim is 11632-22, which, according to the Gruhn book, dates it to 1922. The 10-1/2\" pot. Comes with the original black leather and green velvet Gibson hard case. The tuner strips are in fine condition. The instrument does have ordinary play wear, but still looks good. Some, but not much, fret wear. The synthetic head is not original. Complete. The Gibson logo is on the gold decal inside the pot, not on the peghead. The metal finish is still good, not much oxidization. The most oxidization is on the lobed tailpiece cover. The green velvet pocket door inside the case is loose. All the latches, hinges and the handle on the case all work well. No key for case. The case is somewhat worn. It\'s a great, somewhat uncommon, instrument from the Jazz Age, back in the era of the mandolin and banjo orchestras. Please check out all the photos. For USA orders, shipping is free. It will be shipped in brand new cardboard instrument box with plenty of new 1/2\" bubble wrap. Questions? Please check out my store, “The 1970 Time Travel Trailer,” for more cool vintage stuff, including a bunch of vintage guitars (and a few ukuleles, banjos, fiddles, mandolins and amps).
