Please note: if you\'re traveling or on vacation and would like me to delay shipping until you return, I\'ll be happy to store it for up 6 weeks. I only ask that you settle up payment immediately after the listing closes.Here\'s a hard-to-find 1922 Briggs & Stratton one-tube broadcast receiver. These sets were distributed by Tri-City Radio and marketed under a variety of different names, including Monroe, Lawrence, Globe and Montgomery Ward. This particular example is a Wards set, and it\'s distinguished from the other brands by its cabinet style -- solid oak, with an overhanging lid. Everything else -- panel, variometer, tube socket, rheostat, knobs, binding posts, dials, etc -- is common to all the brand variants.Condition is excellent throughout. The panel is pristine, and the tuning assembly inside the cabinet is entirely original and in excellent condition. Variometer is clean and working properly. Variable condenser is likewise clean and working properly. Cabinet finish is original and in excellent condition. Small hardware exhibits light tarnish and surface oxidation but is in good condition overall. As noted above, the radio still works. It comes with a good 01A tube and a good Philmore headset, and it will ready to use as soon as it arrives. If you want to operate the set, you\'ll need a longwire outdoor antenna (ham radio type -- approximately 120 feet long and 20 feet off the ground), a good regulated DC power supply (I\'d recommend and ARBEIII), and a good indoor ground connection. It will also help to be familiar the tuning principles of an early 20\'s regenerative radio. The receiver measures approximately 12\" wide by 8\" deep by 8\" high. Shipping weight, properly packed, will be approximately 14 lb.That\'s about it. Iwill package the set carefully, and Ican assure you thatit willshow upat your doorstepin the samefine condition in which it leaves mine. I have been shipping antique phonographs and radios for years, and if you check my response, you\'ll see that I know how to do it correctly. Overseas customers may remit payment with Paypal only. sale participants with no response history should contact me before placing a offer. Thanks.
