A public sale catalogue of the art collection of Camillo Castiglioni, including paintings, sculpture, furniture, gold, jewellery, textiles, tapestries, carpets and porcelain.

Featuring numerousplates to the rear, and a frontispiece of a Rembrandt portrait.

The sale was held in Frederick Muller and Co\'s Great Hall of Sales, Amsterdam.

Camillo Castiglioni (1879-1957) was an Italian-Austrian financier and banker. Hewas the wealthiest man in Central Europe during the First World War, and invested heavily in the arts.

The first of three catalogues.

CONDITION

In a quarter cloth binding, with leather-effect paper coverings. Externally, rubbed to extremities, with a tidemark to rear board. Splitting and slight loss to cloth of spine. Internally, generally firmly bound, although several pages are working slightly loose. There are a number of reinforcements to the inner margins, some of which are lifting. Slight browning, with occasional handling marks. The plates are generally clean, with wide margins.Ink stamps of Frederick Muller and Co to front blank. Ink prices have been written alongside the majority of items. Overall: VERY GOOD.
