Chapter 10 and part of Chapter 11 devoted to the long list of influential businessmanmembers who contributed to the success of the WCE (shown) including illustrations from the Fair (1 shown). Examples of the \"Who\'s Who\" members were Harlow N. Higenbotham, President; Daniel Burnham, architect; Louis Sullivan, architect of the Transportation Building; Ferdinand Peck, treasurer; Edward Ayer bought all the natural history exhibits for the post-Fair Field Columbian Museum, Andrew McNally of Rand McNally publishers; Lyman Gage, President; Marshall Field, Field Department Store and philanthropist; etc. The Club, founded in 1880,is a social meeting place for Chicago business men and women and promotes betterment of the city with civic duties and charities.
