offered is a fabulous and important art deco circa 1927 alfred dunhill sterling silver eggshell black lacquer enamel liftarm lighter and cigarette case set in original box. the swiss made single lighter features a wonderful wide eggshell stripe design with workshop made initials. the paris made sterling silver cigarette case was added by the luxury atelier joel helft to match the dunhill lighter. dunhill paris sold lighters to other paris jewelers who would add cigarette cases and lacquer both pieces for custom orders. this eggshell design set was made for special order. 1920\'s french paris eggshell lacquer work is considered some of the most important french art deco ever made. the dunhill lighter is a single wheel liftarm unique mechanism with tiny A/D import mark stamped on the underside. the body and snuffer arm feature both french workshop and sterling marks. the lighter measures about 2-1/8\" tall x 1-5/8\" wide and is in excellent little used condition. the mechanism will work with proper service of fuel and flint. the fuel screw is tight and just requires drop of oil to open. the cigarette case with gold wash interior and carbochon button measures 4-3/4\" tall x 3-3/8\" wide and is in excellent little used condition. the back does have a few small use scuff marks in the lacquer that keep case from being mint. the hardbound felt lined box has a few spots on top that may clean. the set is extremely showy with wonderful rich silver age patina. overall - a rare quality paris workshop art deco sterling eggshell lacquer lighter with matching case set for your collection. a true \"dunhill lighter gem rarity\". vintage french art deco eggshell enamel lighters are extremely rare to find so nice. the dunhill is all original - complete - quite fantastic and one of the finest eggshell lighter sets known. usa priority registered includes insurance. overseas is express airmail with insurance.
