Up for sale is this very rare 1927 University of Pennsylvania versus Cornell gold track medal. The gold colored medal was rewarded for a dual meet between the two Ivy League colleges. It was for the running high jump. The front of the medal has an image of a running mythological Mercury with blue and red enameled \"P\" for Penn and \"C\" for Cornell . It says, \"PENNSYLVANIA CORNELL\" with a \"27\" (For 1927) in a shield. On the back it say \"RUNNING HIGH JUMP \" as well as a Philadelphia Pennsylvania manufacturing company (the name is hard to read!) and \"xGOLDx\". The medal measures 1 1/2 inches in diameter. It in in nice shape with clear striking. It has a slight bend in upper loop (very minor!). No ribbon. Metal exhibits great age patina! A great piece in nice shape offered with a greater !!!
