1928 GRAF ZEPPELIN - Factory Photo Album (Graphic Dept) with an extra pic.
An ORIGINAL Luffschiffbau Zeppelin G.m.b.H. Company Graphische Abteilung (Graphic Dept) album. These are ORIGINAL Pics, approx 6-3/4 x 4-3/4 inch on heavier stock and have an ever so slight curl - consistent with age. All but one, described below, are PERFECT; all display the characteristic of vintage SILVER GEL processing. All pics backs are blank. ORIGINAL Photos are a mix of gloss and satin finish and have odd borders.
I had been selling this grouping with only 5 pics....BUT.....I came upon other pics so can now provide a FULL SET....PLUS!!
I have discovered that these albums were issued with various combination of photos and finishes (hi-gloss vs. satin). In the ones I have come across there seems to be a base set of 4 or 5 with the remaining ones being of several choices. In this set I have added an EXTRA for a total of 7 pics which includes 3 of the alternatives. However one of those, the engine car pic, has some damage but is still VERY presentable. The 2nd alternate is the interior dining room photo and the 3rd is the tail cone photo. Quite frankly each set is probably a random draw from a pool of photos, but I\'m basing my statement on the ones I\'ve seen....which certainly is a VERY limited sample. So dropping the engine car from the collection gives you an ORIGINAL SET of 6 PERFECT photos as found in the folder.
Please note my scanner has cut off edges of the FULLY OPENED folder - all but the UPPER Back flap (see description below) are present with some wear to the hinge area (consistent with age).
Issues:1) Cover of album is missing UPPER Back flap which would have had a tab that would tuck into the rectangular hole of the Lower back flap.2) Outside cover is a bit foxed, inside clean.3) The EXTRA pic (Engine gondola) has heavy scrapes - its backside kinda shows it was possibly caught under/between somethings and pulled out causing the scrapes and a slight crease but scrapes ARE on front. My pic shows a \"medium\" view of the scrapes, if turned to the light, the scrapes can be reduced or made more prominent...so the scanner kinda shows a mid point in-between.
