SELLER\'S COMMENT: Extremely rare book with very interest classical constructivist design of the cover... It is first edition of the first book of author which has very limited print run (unknown). Marian Piechal (born August 24, 1905 in Łódź - died December 9, 1989 in Warsaw) - Polish poet, essayist, translator.He graduated in the Third High School named Tadeusz Kościuszko\'s in Lodz. A graduate of Polish philologyat the University of Warsaw. Co-founder of the \"Meteor\" literary grouping, and from 1929 a member of \"Kwadryga\".During the Nazi occupation he was active in secret sets, he was also a soldier of the Home Army. After the war, he wasthe editor-in-chief of the \"Kronika\" magazine and the president of the Łódź branch of the Polish Writers\' Union.In the years 1946-1948 he was a member of the PPS, from 1948 he belonged to the PZPR. In the 1960s he moved toWarsaw and became the deputy editor of the magazine \"Poezja\". On July 22, 1968, he received the state prize of the second degree.
Kazimierz Sowiński (born October 30, 1907 in Łódź - died on September 8, 1982 in London) - Polish poet, prose writer and playwright.In the years 1921-1928 he attended the Mens Government Gymnasium in Łódź. Already at that time he co-wrote the school newspaper \"Almanach Literacki\".After passing the matura exam in 1928, he began studying philosophy in Warsaw. He graduated in 1933.A poetic debut in the daily Głos Poranny. Then he published in the literary monthly \"Meteor\" published by a literary grouping of the same name.As part of its activity, one book of poems entitled \"Gwiazdy w ostych\" (\'Stars in the attic\') was published, from which many works touch uponthe hard living conditions of Łódź workers. Sowiński was a co-founder of the \"Meteor\" group, which he formed in 1928 together withGrzegorz Timofiejew and Marian Piechal. After its dissolution in 1930, he continued his activity by publishing the magazine \"Prądy\".In the years 1937-1938 he cooperated with the weekly \"Pion\". He also wrote short stories and critical-literary articles for the magazine\"Droga\", \"Prądy czy wymiar\".
