R. Atkinson Fox(Hacker)\"ENCHANTMENT\" LARGE & MINT

\"ENCHANTMENT\" by George Hacker - In Rita Mortenson\'s Vol. 2 of her book on R. Atkinson Fox on Pg. 244 at the bottom says \" are some other confusing signatures on \"Signed Look-alikes\" that I would like to know more about. George Hacker\'s name is the 3rd one on the list. List of Publishers is given on pg.6, one being Edward Stern in Philadelphia. Publisher on the one I have listed is given as Stern & Hacker in Chicago. Fox did spend some time in Chicago.

In Mortenson\'s 1st book on pg. 85 under the image of \"Spirit of Youth\" - see last image - she writes: \"Also, a print has been reported with only slight differences in the girls\' poses--background details are supposedly identical. It is unsigned titled \"Enchantment,\" and distributed by Stern and Hacker.

(The one is signed George Hacker on lower left edge. See 2nd image. Maybe one reported to author as unsigned is in a frame w signature is just out-of-view.)I have taken pictures of this with and without the glass. I could see a signature underneath the edge of the frame, bottom left. I carefully took nails from art board and took pictures of signature, \" George Hacker \" , also of the name , \" Enchantment \" and the makers, \" Stern & Hacker \" Chicago, Ill. I did this so you could see clearly the condition of the print. In the first pic it is without the frame and glass, now compare to the second pic with frame and glass, there is barely any difference. I have tried to take pictures from different angles to show off the picture as best as I could. The three pictures of the names show the heavy paper used in Lithograph\'s, also you can see pattern which indicates the process. The glass is original as is the frame. The size of the frame is 23 1/2\" wide , 15 1/2\" tall and 1\" thick
This came from an estate sale.Any questions please ask.
