Offered is a very rare 1930\'s Western Air Express Pilot Wing Numbered 1st Issue. The number at bottom center of the badge was believed to represent the route the pilot flew. Wing is made of gold plated solid sterling silver (marked on back). It has no maker\'s mark on back. Wing measures 2-15/16\" in width. It is complete with a horizontal pin and come-under swivel catch. Study the pictures, you will be receiving exactly what you see. As most of you know, Western Air Express was incorporated in 1925 and had their first flight in 1926. They very briefly (for only a few months) changed it name to General Airlines in 1934. In 1941 they became known as Western Air Lines and eventually Western Airlines.
