1930s Germany Yellow Umbrella FADENGLAS Striped UNSILVERED Tinsel Xmas Ornament

DESCRIPTION:
Colorful, hand-blown striped fadenglas Christmas tree ornament produced in the Lauscha region of Germany during the 1930s. The colored glass stripes are within the clear glass body of the ornament, as evidenced by the perfect swirls on the handle and the broadening of the stripes at the wider parts of the ornament.

The ornament is in the shape of a closed umbrella, with a sprig of sparkling silver tinsel inside. The swirled stripes are primarily orange and yellow with some smaller blue and white stripes.

This ornament is from an original box of twelve, and appears unused. The box is shown for illustration only and is not included in this sale.

This ornament measures 15/16\" diameter and 4 1/2\" long overall. The ornament is marked with a tiny pale red inkstamp \'Germany\' within a circle on the side.

CONDITION:
~ is excellent for such a fragile ornament ~ no chips, cracks or damage to the glass! There is a bit of typical oxidation to the tinsel, as shown in our photos.
