1932 Ford Roadster-Muroc Inspired by FOOSE and Kugel

Few would havethought the 1932 Ford would become the basis for street rod creations thatencompass high performance, innovative design and time proven craftsmanship.The Muroc Roadster takes its name from the settlement on Rogers Dry Lake inCalifornia that was witness to the dawn of drag racing and rise of SouthernCalifornia hot rodding. This hand-built roadster is the result of acollaboration between heavyweights Chip Foose and Jerry Kugel. The sleek Fordstreet rod is one of 10 Muroc Roadsters built with an all-metal body, has takenhome several car show honors and was featured in the December 2000 issue ofStreet Rodder Magazine. Under the hood is a 5.7-liter Chevrolet Corvette Z06V-8 engine built by Street and Performance of Mena, Arkansas. The LS6 delivers405 horsepower through a GM 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission with a Lokarshifter. The detailed engine bay is equipped with a Mattson radiator for coolrunning. The Roadster channels the power to the rear wheels with a powdercoatedchassis and a fully independent and highly detailed suspension. Dual A-armfront suspension with coilover shock absorbers and vented disc brakes work withthe polished and chromed Kugel Jaguar-style independent rear suspension withinboard disc braking for maximum road and power control. The hand-formedaluminum and steel body was crafted and smoothed into perfection by Marcel andSons and finished into its red over black two-tone paint scheme by ShowtimeAuto Body. The custom black interior with patterned seats and door panels wasupholstered by Gabe Lopez and is accented by billet, polished and chromedcomponents and topped with a Budnik billet leather-wrapped steering wheel on atilt-steering column. Staggered width 17-inch front and 20-inch rear wheelsshod with Goodyear Eagle HP tires give the Muroc Roadster its traditionalrakish stance and modern ride.
