This medal (or token) is a souvenir of the 1937 inauguration of U. S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt for his second term. The obverse has a large bust of Roosevelt, with his name to the left and the words PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES along the rim. The reverse has an image of the U. S. Capitol above which are the words PROSPERITY TOKEN. Along the rim of this side are the words REELECTED NOVEMBER 3. 1936 * INAUGURATED JANUARY 20. 1937, and the copyright mark of J. Hood (Philadelphia) is to the right. The diameter isapproximately 29 mm (1-1/8\"), and the composition is brass.

This item is in very good to fine condition, with signs of handling, toning, and soiling.
