Original 1939 Menu from The Pennsylvania Railroad \"The American\" Train, whose route was St. Louis-Washington D.C.-New York and the return. Bifold cardstock, 10\" by 6-1/4\" (12-1/2\" when open). The front of the menu features the logos for The American and The Pullman Company. The interior two pages detail the train\'s extensive beverage offerings, including mineral waters, lemonades, champagnes, wines, beers, liquors, and cocktails; there is also a list of available sandwiches and snacks. The bottom of the second page is marked \"L.C. Armfield, Commissary, Chicago\". The back of the menu features other amenities, such as cigars and cigarettes, playing cards, toiletries, and valet service. In fair overall condition, with signs of age and use. The spine has been cut about half way down, but the menu is still in one piece. There is a fold through the center, and discoloration on the top half of the back page where the menu was likely glued in a scrapbook. Please see the photographs for more detail, and thank you!
