UP FOR SALE, A 1940\'S (1943) WORLD WAR II SEABEE OFFICER\'S UPRIGHT TRAVEL STEAMER TRUNK. THIS PIECE MEASURES 36\"T x 21\"W x 12\"D. IT IS IN VERY NICECONDITION WITH NO PIECES MISSING EXCEPT FOR THE HANGERS. ALL THE HINGES ARE IN EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER. DOES NOT HAVE A KEY. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS BEFORE BUYING. This trunk was used by Commander H.D. Cavin of the Century (Seabee) 100th U.S. Naval ConstructionBattalion, Commissioned July 17, 1943. They were the first on the island of Majuro, Marshall Islands to mark the firsttime this branch of the Armed Forces had set foot on Japanese soil. I will send the buyer a copy of the first newsletter published by Commander Cavin, July, 1943.
