Up for sale an original 1940\'s metal back Kit Cat Klock. The serial number on the back is seriously 00864. I have never seen a serial number on these that is just a number. This one is an early model that came out of the Seattle facility when they first moved there. Here is the good the bad and the ugly about the piece:
1. It works. The eyes move and the hands work.
2. I do not have the tail.
3. This was in a house for the last nearly 80 years in a smokers house. There is tar damage that can be cleaned but to do so would need to be taken apart so the mechanics don\'t get damaged while doing it. I do not have enough experience to do this without damaging the piece otherwise I would do so.
4. There is a hairline crack in the left ear.
5. There is a chunk below the right ear off the back of the head. Not noticeable when hanging on the wall unless you really look and inspect the piece.
6. There is another chunk out of the very bottom of the piece where the tail hangs. Again not really seen when it it hanging.
7. The cord is coming through the bottom missing chunk instead of the designated side hole. The plug that inserts into the hole is still on the cord. The cord could be repositioned into the correct hole but I am not talented enough to think that I could fix it without really screwing something up. If you have any questions please send them my way. I have tried to find out as much as I can about the clock before posting but if I have not thought about something that is important to know or see I will hunt it down.As always:
