This doll needs a lot of TLC for the body - eyes close when laid on back, she used to have a crier inside, but I think it has played out but still there, 2 front teeth showing with hard plastic head. Her arms have crumbled and legs - I think the body was composition /rubber - this was a doll my grandmother let me only hold when I was little over 65 years ago and as I recall she had had it for a long time. My grandparents spoke German and I think it came from Germany. the Face/head is beautiful and in pristine condition as far as I can tell. I would like someone to have it that would be able to fix the arms/legs as I have no way to do that. As far as my research, the AX was early signature of Madame Alexander. I have moved in to a very small house and have no place to put all the dolls I have. As I am learning this way to sell things, I have only sold 2 items. I have loved this doll from my grandmother but alas have no one to hand it down to. My sons do not value it as I do.
