An absolutely luxurious and fine quality French cut velvet brocade fabric. Plush, with a dense pile and a silky velvet feel. French, of course, vintage is 1940s to 1950s. very Hollywood Regency and Paris Apartment. Very good, clean, fresh, unused condition. A deep pile, a thick upholstery weight, (not thin or flimsy) yet intensely supple velvet, weighty, a true \"plush\" pile with a glow and sheen in the light. Delightful Baroque floral pattern. Colors are a gorgeous mix of muted heather purples or dusky lavender shades, and a color that is a sort of dusky pale cocoa-plum. Really wonderful colors together. I show both sides and the selvage for you. 53\" wide with original selvages intact on both sides (1/2\" selvages) so it is a full width. Measures 58\" long. It has been lovingly well stored all that time in a smoke free home in a trunk so it is very well preserved, so fresh and clean. All natural fibers, rayon and cotton for a plush look and feel. This would retail today for over $140 per yard or more. Enough to cover small pieces of furniture, vanity bench, seat covers, pillows, purses and totes, or incorporate into a one-of-kind garment, or just to collect and love.
