1940s WWII Era Authentic Women\'s Black Crepe Sequined Peplum Dress to early 1950s era
Approximately a women\'s size 12 to 14
This pretty dinner or evening dress came straight from my mother\'s closet. It was sentimental to her and she said it had once been her mother\'s dress. It\'s possible it could have come from England as that\'s where my grandmother was from.
The dress features a tie at the neckline, Rhinestone inset buttons down the front, peplum waist and skinny belt, belt loops on each side, split at the bottom front, cap sleeves and Turquoise sequin trim on the sleeves and across the front. I\'m not sure of the exact fabric but it appears to be a nice Rayon crepe style fabric.
All of the seams and hem appear to be intact. The dress was found stored in tissue in my mother\'s old hope chest when I was sorting through her things from the estate. I did not notice any tags or sign of a tag being sewn in so I\'m thinking the dress was hand made and may have had enhancements or alterations to it over time which I can\'t tell if that\'s the case or not.
I\'ve taken photos to show the details including measurements using a yard stick at approximately 20 inches from armpit to armpit (about a 36\" chest or so), 18 inches across the waist (about a 32\" waist or so), and 29 inches length from waist to the hem line. I\'ve also shown the inside seam binding/seams for reference.
*There was also a coordinating hat, gloves and clutch back found with the dress that I may put up soon listed separately.
