This George VI 1943-(B) Indian Silver 1/4 Rupee Rounded Lotus, Serifs provides collectors who have an interest in Indian history or the history of the British Empire a fantastic option. Stunning King George VI designPercy Metcalfe engraved the left-side portrait of King George VI that serves as the obverse design. Metcalfe shows the monarch wearing a crown. Inscriptions along the rim offer his name and title, together reading, "GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR."
At the center of the reverse is a circular area that bears inscriptions in English and Urdu. The inscriptions offer essential information about the coin, including its face value, "1/4 RUPEE," its territory of issue, "INDIA," and its date, "1945." That area is encircled by a wreath that consists of shamrock leaves, roses, lotus flowers and thistle. A toothed rim encircles the wreath.
