This is a very lovely chinese shelf clock,spring wind and strike 8 day clock.It is 18 inces high 5 inches deep and 10 inches wide weighing about 7 lbs.Made by the precious time clock manufacturing co. of Chefoo,China,sort of the Hong Kong of the pre ww2 days,thus this clock was made for export,I bought it from the west coast U.S. It has an original brass movement,keeps good time and strikes a coiled gong on the hour.There is a reverse painted dragonfly and lily pad with flowers on the bottom glass. The dial appears repainted.The key is included.The date stamped is 43 and 12 so I assume dec,1943.It has gold colored trim and ornately carved panels.The case is a reddish brown stain with pinstriping,very unique and full of personality.I just oiled it and it runs great.
