This shallow bowl, which is meant for wall display, portrays a scene in the Kadinlar Hamami, or women\'s bathhouse. According to the information on the back, the piece was handmade in Istanbul in 1944. I have been unable to figure out the meaning of the last two lines of copy. Possibly they contain the artist\'s name. The dish measures approximately 12\" in diameter and is 2\" deep.
