This is an original press photo. FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover tonight denounced a false spirit of tolerance which he said allows bigotry and racial hates to endanger the nation\'s unity. He warned that there already are signs of a revival of the forces which ridiculed preparedness before Pearl Harbor. Hoover spoke at the dinner opening the 53rd Continental Congress of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Here, J. Edgar Hoover is welcomed to the dinner by retired President General of the DAR, Mrs. William H. Pouch.Photo measures 8 x 6.25inches. Photo is dated 04-17-1944.
