Offered here is a vintage 1947 Singer Featherweight 221 sewing machine in original condition with a silver straited face plate, carry case and buttonhole attachment.With serial number AH339656 this machine dates to October, 1947.Extras include the buttonholer, 3 bobbins and two screwdrivers.
The Singer bobbin case is rust free and working fine.Tested by my quilter wife and determined to be working as it should.It is an estate find and is being sold as found, meaning I have no records of servicing.The paint is all original with some typical light surface marks from normal use and there are a couple small spots with minor paint loss (along the front edge).There is no gold lettering wear, and only minor gold decorative trim wear (again along the front edge).No dings or repairs are evident except the electric cord has been replaced, maintaining the original bakelite plug.The cords, plugs and foot pedal and motor belt are all in good shape.
The type three case is solid without any structural damage or often found musty smell.It has a couple very light scuffs - actually very nice condition.A good general servicing, cleaning and lubrication of the machine would be a good idea to make sure it is totally up to par.Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.Extra care will be given in packing to insure safe shipping applies to the continental 48 states.
