ThreeJohn and Mabel Ringling Museum, Sarasota, FL press release photos from the 1980:The Ringling’s Bayfront mansion Ca’d’Zan, the grounds (inner sculpture courtyard)and a reproduction of the 1930 installation of David. Each photo isapproximately 8 x 10 inches on glossy photo paper and each has a typed paper description taped on the verso with the description ofthe photo on the back. The tape is in original condition. Also, included is an equally vintage 6 x 4 postcard of theRingling’s bronze cast of David by Michelangelo.
Original 1949 Catalogue of the Collection of John and Mable Ringling’s Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida. Published when Chick Austin was the director.
Softbound, 375 pages with forward by William E. Suida who compiled the catalogue of painting collected by the Ringlings for their museum. Measures 8 3/8 x 5 ½ x ¾ inches. Profusely, illustrated in black and white.
Four hundred and sixty catalogued paintings. Unidentified spots and a few chips on the first few pages. Front cover upper left has torn a bit and is creased. Back cover’s upper left corner is creased as well. Spine is tight, has curled up a tiny bit on the bottom edge. Pages bright unlike my photos taken in the shade.
Inked signature of the original owner Marcia Corbino on the back of the cover. Catalogue in excellent used condition for a 64 year old catalogue.
