1949 Hot Rod Vintage 200 mph Salt Flat SoCal Streamliner Ford Race Collector Car:
$399000.00

The First 200 MPH Hot Rod\" So Cal Streamliner\" Built by Alex Xydias in 1949 and driven by Dean Batchelor.

Originally powered by a Bobby Meeks built, Edelbrock-equipped Merc\' V8, the \'Liner ran a best of 193.54 mph at the 1st ever Bonneville Nationals in 1949. The following year it returned to Bonneville and went a staggering 210.92 mph - THE FASTEST HOT ROD of its day. Unfortunately, in February 1951, the Streamliner was destroyed in an accident while attempting to set a record at Daytona Beach.

This historic car has been re-bodied by craftsman Dan Webb in homage to Alex Xydias and Dean Batchelor and in honor of the Streamliner\'s 60th Anniversary.

\"Fastest car ever built in America\" was how NASCAR described the \'Liner on promotions for their speed trials at Daytona Beach in February 1951. Hot Rod Magazine proclaimed \"210 mph\" on its November 1950 cover.

This is the car that helped launch the success of So Cal Speed Shop.

B-26 aircraft yoke used as the steering wheel*****Kong ignition and vintage gauges*****Original bomber seat and vintage seat belts*****vintage engine (H & H Flatheads)*****Flat head Mercury

The Mercury Flathead is an exact match to the original Vic Edelbrock-built, including a 4 inch stroke, Kong ignition and Edelbrock intake with 3 new Stromberg 97\'s. It was completely balance and assembled by H & H Flatheads. Amazing sheet metal work done by Craig Naff.

Here is your chance to own a unique part of racing History. This car has the actual timing plaque mounted in the car that was given to Alex Xydias for his car\'s record 210 mph Bonneville run.

Re-constructed by some of the best craftsmen in the world.
