David Gilboa (1910-1976). (Roumanian-Israeli)

David Gilboa was born in Romania in 1910. He immigrated to Israel in 1933.

He studied at Academy of Fine Art, Bucharest, Roumania at the years of 1927-29.

David is one of the founders of the Artist\'s Quarter, Safed.

David Gilboa was a landscape painter till he discovered the human element which had previously been of secondary importance and in no way a primary object..

David Gilboa has turned portrait painting into his main field of action.

Within a few years he has collected a whole gallery of character-paintings.

. He produced and illustrated a number of children\'s books. He died in 1976.
