This listing is for a 1950s SMOKING SPACEMAN ROBOT. It is the desirable Linemar version (aka, Marx Toys). The robot is approximately 12 inches tall and made of tin. Excellent condition overall with clean battery compartments in the legs. The chrome chest plate could be a bit shinier, but the robot is bright and clean, even underneath. It works great, too. Walks along with swinging arms, lighted eyes and lighted kaleidoscope in the dome, it then stops and blows smoke. After 60 years, the oil reservoir is dry but I did get it to blow smoke for a while using Alkaline batteries (see video-- As you may know, Alkalines should be avoided because they are stronger and heavy than the standard batteries these toys were designed for, but I wanted to verify that the smoke mechanism works. I understand that the oil reservoir in battery toys can be replenished if you are inclined. The back of the robot is stamped \"Linemar, Japan.\" On consignment.
