An original 1951 vintage Erie Railroad ash tray. 3 and 1/2\" square, with the special blue and yellow 1851 - 1951 100th Anniversary Great lakes to the Sea Erie Railroad logo in the center. Excellent condition, no chips, nicks, or cracks, a nice item from the post WWII era when the future of rail transportation looked bright. Few at the time would have guessed that merger with the Lackawanna was less than 10 years away, and that merger would last less than 16 years and would be followed by Conrail and NJ Transit!
