1952 MADELINE 18\" IN TAGGED OUTFIT

Style :

She was one of the first fully jointed hard plastic dolls with a vinyl head, ball jointed at elbows, wrists and knees. Her body is strung and she has rocker/sleepy eyes. This is the same body as Miss Active (1951) and Sweet Violet (1954)- the only difference is these other dolls had a Cissy head.

Actual item number is known, however in the \"Madame Alexander Dolls on Review\", she is shown on page 57 wearing this dress in the 1952 FAO Swartz Catalog.

Hair :

Her hair was a little rough when I bought her, but she has had a good shampoo, high heat rinse, and a day long deep conditioning. Her wig was curled with a setting lotion and some light aqua net to help the curls stay longer. I will pin them and put a hair net to help hold her new hair-do :)

Minor flaws: she has two minor wig issues- one side has slightly lifted and the front top of wig has a small worn area. I feel these are two very small issues, one of which just require glue. Please view both pics for close-up detail.

Eyes/Face :

Her blue eyes are clear and brush lashes are all there. She has a small rub mark on her high color face- see pic of her cheek.

Body/Limbs :

Her clean vinyl body, is in very good condition with only a few marks marks and some rub marks on ball jointed areas- typical- all are clearly shown in the pics below. Please note- she is a strung doll and her jointed knees are moderately loose, but the rest of her stringing is fine and can hold a pose dress is a tagged original! I have added the slip, crinoline and undies from another Alexander doll- so they are age appropriate. All clothing has been has been washed and ironed. The dress has some typical fading, and a spot on the back. I have seen this dress before and the blue portion was darker but it is in great condition and is still crisp!

The other pieces may have typical vintage issues like- color transfer (crinoline), faint staining (slip), loose elastic (undies), tarnished shoe buckles (shoes are also a little big, but slip off and on easily, snags of socks.

To add to Madeline\'s beautiful ensemble, I added a vintage bonnet with new ribbon to tie under her chin. The ribbon on her dress is also new.

Although my home is smoke & pet hair free, most of my resale items are from estate & garage sales, sales and resale stores; in most cases I do not know the entire history of the item or items. However, I will list exactly what I notice about the condition or any offensive odors the item might have. Most stored items will have musty or mothball scent; I rarely buy items with a scent of smoke. Whenever possible the item will be aired out for a few days & sprayed with disenfectant spray or cleaned and sanitized to the best of my ability (I am neither a professional dry cleaner nor do I take the items to be professionally laundered). Fabric or clothing items: are washedand lightly ironed with sizing starch to help rejuvenate their overall appearance.

I try to list all MAJORflaws. Please do not offer if you have expectations of a near mint item because everyone\'s perception regarding condition is different. So, when offerding just assume it will have normal age wear and flaws. This sale is \"as is\" and I will not accept returns or giveprice adjustments.
