You areofferding on a restored 1953 Vendo 23 Deluxe Coca ColaSpin-top Machine. The coinmechanism works and the machine cools and vends the 8 oz Coke bottle, Diet Cokebottle, Sprite bottle, Coke Zero bottle.This machine will also vend the 7 once Corona, Bud, Bud light, or Little Kings.

All ofthe lettering on this machine was professionally hand painted to include $.10Only on the top of the lid, the imbossed print on the front and the Opener,coin return, and Bottle Storage lettering are also painted (not decals). In addition, the Have a Coke is also handpainted.

Thismachine vends using dimes. One dime willallow you to select a beverage. It vendson dimes only. A machine this nice is aninvestment that will only appreciate as time moves forward.

History:The Coca Cola Vendo 23 was manufactured from 1949thru 1959. The machine that is for sale is the deluxeversion and was called the model A23B.It was much easier to operate.Itfeatures a Chrome “Orange Squeezer” typeknob, thatturnedthe top, after you inserted your coin. It also featured a Silver painted toplid, with a handle on the front for loading, embossed “Coca Cola” lettering onthe front,side “Have a Coke” decals,and a lower storage area foryour empty bottles, with a bi-fold hinge (the bottle trayremained prettylevel as you pulled the door open).This “Deluxe”versionalsofeatures the embossed“ICE COLD”lettering at the bottom ofthe door.

The Vendo23 Coke machine was offered for smaller locations, as an alternative to themuch larger upright machines. To operate the Coca Cola Vendo 23, you insert 5or 10 cents in the slot, the coin mechanically allows you to turn the chrome“Orange Squeezer” style knob. This action spins the top lidone notch,allowing youto retrieve 1 of 23 bottles. For this reason, the Vendo 23 iscommonly referred to as the “Spin Top” machine. The Vendo A23 Coke machineoffers one selection. Vendo placed the “A” letter before the model number, todenote chest type, single selection,coin operated,machines.
