Here is the case which came with a Singer Featherweight, Model 221, dated 1955.This sale features a case from a Singer Featherweight, dating from 1955, which is being parted out due to cosmetic issues with the machine. I consider that this case is in GOOD used condition, with mostly cosmetic issues on the fabric covering. See the pictures to get an idea of the scuffs, marks and other surface problems, including what looks like sun fading (?) on the lid, or something which caused the handle to leave its imprint. The bottom board shows very slight separation, and should probably be glued, along with the fabric. Of course, she\'s about 60 years old! The structure seems quite sturdy overall, and I believe it would do its job of safe storage and carrying of another Featherweight.The latches are complete and operate correctly, with plenty of \"snap\" in the opening action - I tried to \"catch\" these before they opened completely when I was checking them so that they wouldn\'t snap too hard! The \"buttons\" which operate the \"catch\" sections slide OK, but the latches sometimes had to be encouraged to release with a fingernail underneath. Both latches can be locked, though there is no key. The hinges on the back of the lid are intact and also working correctly. The handle on the lid is in very nice condition, firmly attached and moving as intended.The 4 metal \"feet\" are present on the bottom of the case, and look to be in good shape. The side mounted storage tray is present, and in good shape as well, along with the oil can holder next to it. And the foot pedal holder is in place in the lid, and does its job very well. The fabric covering the \"hinge\" between the lid and the bottom is NOT ripped, as it often is in these cases. Please examine all the pictures carefully, and read the entire description before offerding. I accept returns, but this would be expensive to ship back, and I won\'t pay return shipping costs on this item unless I\'ve misrepresented it.NOTE: I\'ve calculated shipping based on having to send this to the West Coast.
