The 1958 NCAA FINALS Championship Game was played on March 22, 1958at FREEDOM HALL in Louisville, Kentucky. The KENTUCKY WILDCATS,coached by the legendary ADOLPH RUPP,won the national title with a 84-72 victory in the final game over the SEATTLE CHIEFTAINS,coached by JOHN CASTELLANI. ELGIN BAYLOR ofSeattle was named the tournament\'s Most Outstanding Player. Kentucky was led by VERNON HATTON,ADRIAN SMITH,JOHNNY COX,and JOHN CRIGLER THIS WASKENTUCKY AND RUPP\'S FOURTHNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.The other two Final Four teams were the KANSAS STATE WILDCATS and the TEMPLE OWLS.
