You are looking at a very nice Conn 38B Constellation trumpet, made in 1960 (serial number 883XXX). If you don\'t already know, this is a professional level trumpet. It is well-known throughout the world of trumpeters. This one is in very good condition and plays very well.

The overall finish is nickel plating and lacquered brass. The 1960 Connstellation has a solid and seamless Coprion (copper) leadpipe over which Conn put nickel plating. The bell is the \"Electro-D\" bell, as Conn referred to it. It is brass that has been plated with copper and then with nickel. The bell diameter is a big 5-1/8. The Connstellation is a very unique trumpet.

This Connstellation is in very good condition. There are no dents. There are some tiny nicks/pings and some scratches. The lacquer is in good condition, but there aresparkly specks in parts ofit. There is also some plating loss on the 3rd valve casing where the fingers make contact.

The valve pistons are clean and in excellent condition with very minimal wear. They move up and down smoothly, quietly, and quickly.

All 4slides move smoothly, and when you pull out the 3 valve slides, there is good pop.

Compression/vacuum is very good.

All bracing is strong and secure with no signs of any past resoldering.

All valve caps screw on and off easily.

The engraving is clear.

The bell rim is round and straight with no bends.

The first valve slidetrigger works well.

The trumpet has been cleaned out with warm soapy water, soft brushes, and a cleaning snake, so there is no dirt that can be removed with soap and water remaining in the horn. I do recommend a chem clean or an ultrasonic cleaning, as with all used brass instruments, to remove anything that cannot be removed with water and soap.

I am not a musical instrument technician, so I might not have mentioned or noticed something, good or bad, that you would like to know about, so please feel free to ask any questions you might have, before offerding. I am not accepting returns unless I have misrepresented this trumpet, I am sure I have not.

The trumpet comes in its original case, which is in fair condition. It is not in the greatest shape, but it is useable. The latches have lost their spring action, but they do open and close. You have to pull them open with your fingers since the springs don\'t work. The handle and hinges are fine. The interior is dark blue velvet. The interior is in fair condition.

Shipping will be $24.00, and that will include insurance and very safe packing. I use only strong new boxes and pack the trumpet very safely inside. The trumpet will be shipped within 3 business days of your payment, which I can accept only through Paypal. I ship via FedEx, and a signature will be required upon delivery per FedEx policy for any item valued at $400 or more. If this is not convenient for you, you can go to the FedEx website and use the tracking number (I will send this number to you once the trumpet has been shipped.) to request that the package be held at a FedEx location near your home for pickup at your earliest convenience. I ship only to the 48 continental US states.
