1960 Mappin & Webb Pair Sterling Convertible 3 Light Candelabra Hollow Bottoms:

This is a pair of convertible three light candelabra, fully hallmarked with theMappin and Webbmaker\'s mark, London 1960 on the interior of the hollow bases and with the Mappin & Webb mark, lion passant, and date letter on the branch assembly, where it inserts into the stem. Each of the six drip pans and removable nozzles are also partially hallmarked, with the lion passant and the London leopard head. There is an additional Mappin and Webb housemark on the interior of each base. These candelabra are not weighted.
The design alternates between faceted hexagonal sections, and banded circular sections, and the hollow base of each piece is stepped, surmounted with a knopped stem that leads to a single nozzle. On their own, this is a nice pair of 7.5\" tall candlesticks. The bases measure 4.25\" across.
If so desired, you can insert the branch assembly and transform the pair into a set of three-light candelabra. The three scrolled arms lead to stepped drip pans (circular set into hexagonal), and round, banded nozzles, with a knopped finial that complements the stem. With the branches inserted, the candelabra are approximately 11\" tall and 10\" across.
The drip pans, nozzles, and general branch assembly are all easily removed for cleaning.

Condition:Some minor abrasions and scratches commensurate with age and normal use. Generally in very good condition.
