- Vintage Rare Battery Operated Toy.
Excellent physical condition . Hard to find brown shoe version.
Cosmetically it has very little general wear . Overall the toy is in very good condition, would be excellent if it wasn\'t for the replaced hands. Marked on back: \"MARX TOYS\" logo, \"Louis Marx & Co Inc\", \"Universal Picture Company Inc\", \"Made in Japan\".
Head and hands are vinyl, body tin with lithography .The piece stands 12 3/4\" high.The vinyl hands have been replaced from another toy. They look like Frankenstein hands. The tin sleeve around them has been squeezed to hold the hands in place(see pics). The hands actually look better than the originals did,
but are a little heavier.Takes two D-cells in the hand held remote. Under the monster\'s skirt is the ORIGINAL cam shaft used for the bending function. This mechanical part is sometimes missing or replaced. The monsters hands open and close, and move up and down with the remote. He sometimes walks after fooling around with the gears, and remote batteries, but rarely. A small silver gear fell out from under his skirt. Don\'t know where it goes. He bends slightly forward when the hands are raised because of the replacement hands being heavier than the original hands. Does NOT bend with the remote. Maybe that is because of the small gear that fell out? Gear included.The ORIGINAL box has some wear and tear, box taped on inside cover, in overall good condition.Put in new batteries, battery holder clean, wiring o.k..
