This is an original press photo. This is HMS Rothesay, A British Frigate, which is pursuing the hijacked Portuguese cruise ship Santa Maria in the Caribbean with more than 800 persons aboard. The Rothesay, 1 370 foot submarine hunter reported the seizure of the ship by a band of armed men. The ship was en route to Port Everglades, Florida, wen the band took control and now is appeared to be heading for Brazil. Photo measures 9 x 7inches. Photo is dated 01-24-1961.
