For sale is a 1963 Fender Bassman 6G6-B chassis. A favorite of Brian Setzer & Pete Townshend, this classic Fender circuit was only available from 1962 until the middle of 1964. Though designed for bass, the amp really shines when used as a guitar amp. The Bassman 6G6-B features has two drastically different channels. The Normal channel is the progenitor of the Blackface AB763 style preamp with a Volume Treble & Bass. The Bass channel has a totally different preamp circuit with a cathode follower stage. When this channel is cranked up, it has a juicy overdrive. The Treble control of Bass Channel also adds some extra gain when it is dimed. Because of the two different set of inputs, the 6G6-B Bassman amp range from having a sumptuous clean sound at lower volumes to a very touch sensitive overdrive when the volume pot is dialed up to 7 or higher. There is also a global Presence control which also adds a nice sheen to the amp\'s tone. The amp has its original Schumacher transformers. This amp is functioning great and has been recently tested & checked over by a technician. The circuit board has been partially recapped and the power supply has been fully recapped sometime in the last 20 years(looks like July-Aug, 2002 by the tech who did the recap). When pushed, this amp can keep up with a loud drummer with no issue. The amp has a 4 ohm output impedance. The amp cabinet is original to the amp, but it will need some work to make it look right as a prior owner spray painted it black. The front panel has no grill cloth and I am pretty sure the Fender tail plate isn\'t original as well. I have no screws or its other original hardware. The back panel and some of the bottom has had some of the paint removed. With some elbow grease, the cabinet could be returned closer to original glory. As it sits, the amp is perfect for a player who doesn\'t want to take out a collectible amp to a live show. This past week, one of these sold right here on for 1225 & it wasn\'t verified as a functional amplifier(meaning they played guitar through it). I will admit that the blue paint is kind of cooler looking than this black paint, but either way the cab was ask all questions 12 hours before the listing\'s close so they can be answered properly. The amp doesn\'t have any tube shields. This amp is being listed with no returns. Though amp has been checked, I have done no maintenance to it so no warranty is implied or inferred.
