This is an original 19 x 28 in. one-sheet 1963 Judex Movie Poster featuring Channing Pollock. Printed in Yugoslavia before the war and even before the Berlin Wall came down. Poster has Channing Pollock wearing a Bird Mask whileholding a dove, which appears to be dead but comes to life during a magicalperformance at a Masquerade Ball in the movie’s opening scene (see link to clipbelow). The poster is in excellent condition and you will be hard-pressed to find another in this condition. It is professionally conservation mounted for archival preservation and ready for framing. Will beshipped rolled in protective tube.

ChanningPollock(August 16, 1926 – March18, 2006) was a great American Magicianandfilm actor. He was best known for an act in which hewould elegantly produce doves out of thin air. Channing trained at the Chavez School of Magic inLosAngeles, graduating in 1952. His early work as a Magician was on thenightclub circuit, where his talents were enhanced by his good looks.

He made three appearances onThe Ed Sullivan Show, and went on to make severalappearances at theLondon Palladium. By the mid-1950s Pollock wasunsurpassed in his field, and he had spawned a great many imitators.

Heappeared at cabaret venues and in special shows all over the world, performingfor PresidentDwight D. Eisenhower,Queen Elizabeth IIand atthe wedding of Prince RainierandGrace Kelly. At the height of hiscareer he was one of America\'s highest-paid entertainers.

In 1959 his act was seen in thefilmEuropean Nights, and the following year he decided to give uphis career as a magician to become an actor. He appeared in a number ofthrillers and dramas, includingMusketeers of the Sea(1960),withAldo RayandPier Angeli;Rocambole(1962);TheRed Sheik(1962); and Georges Franju\'sJudex(1963),in which he played the romantic leads.
