1969 Harmony H35 Batwing Vintage Mandolin w/ DeArmond Gold Foil & Original Case:
$779.99

Up for sale, a 1969 Harmony H35 Batwing Electric/Acoustic mandolin in excellent, 100% original condition and in good working order. Boasting a DeArmond Gold Foil pickup, this mandolin delivers the clear percussive chop and sweet clarity of these famed pickups. With healthy output, balanced EQ and plenty of sparkle and chime on tap, this Harmony excels as both an acoustic and electric instrument. Professionally setup with comfortable, low action this Harmony H35 is a serious player\'s instrument and ideal for a collector as well.
Perhaps most notably used by Led Zeppelin\'s John Paul Jones when the band toured acoustically in 1975, Harmony\'s H35 model has been used by a diverse range of notable artists, from Yank Rachell (the \"elder statesman of the blues\") to Fleet Foxes.
The neck has a slender C profile that\'s inviting to the hand and very easy to play, with original frets that show only light wear and have decades of life left. The headstock sports the original black plastic overlay with an engraved \"Harmony\" logo and striking headstock shape which matches the batwing pickguard and asymmetrical body contours. The original tuning machines are intact and turn extremely smoothly, holding pitch well and featuring nearly flawless chrome.
On the body, all of the electronics work as they should, with simple Volume and Tone controls governing the gold foil pickup. All of the original hardware is intact including the compensated rosewood bridge, \"Harmony\" labeled pickguard, chrome tailpiece with cover and mini DeArmond black bell knobs. Visible through the bass side F hole, the original 1969 Harmony date stamp is clearly visible along with the model stamp. Not to be confused with the same model which was made in Japan after \'72, this mandolin is an original USA made Harmony product!
The three-tone sunburst nitro lacquer finish is vibrant and striking, showing moderate finish checking on the top and a few small nicks on the back and around the edges of the body, but no serious wear as this mandolin has been very well cared for. There is one very tight crack running parallel to the grain on the bass side of the body on the back which has been professionally glued and is structurally sound (photo #12).
The original form-fit black chipboard case with burgundy velvet interior is included. The case is in great overall condition with working latches and original handle. Please check out our shop \"Mike & Mike\'s Guitar Bar\" on the web, and feel free to call us directly with any questions at 206.818.9329.
